We are happy to announce that our Red Art Grenache Shiraz 2008 won a spot in the Adelaide Review Hot 100 wines 2011. The competition involved judging 1000 SA wines of which the judges select the top 100. I would have loved to have been in the room with the judges – their review is hilarious and brilliant. It will put a smile on my face for years to come (might have to frame it!). Here’s what they said:
With the smell of the interior of a 70’s Valiant on a hot summer’s day – screams of leather, red berry and tar, but the elegant palate is cool with red and white candy cane freshness. Coiled and bound with impressive texture, a sleeper for the future.
They are right that it will cellar well, but it also drinks beautifully now. I don’t think any of my customers have been able to hold on to this wine, it just keeps getting consumed!
