The 2017 vintage delivered a very aromatic wine. It is a strong vintage with a powerful structure. As always, our Cabernet shows the full range of varietal characteristics from the fresher leafy elements through to delicious cocoa, and everything in between. -
Our 2018 vintage Red Art Shiraz is one of our best vintages so far. It is a full bodied wine exploding with complexity. Delicious flavours of black fruits, liquorice, blackberry pie, espresso martini, dark chocolate, charcuterie, earthy spice and black pepper are augmented by smooth silky full tannins. We have 3 separate blocks of shiraz on our little single vineyard, and each plot provides different characters and tannin profiles. Together they create a wine with great depth and layers of flavours. Picked when the fruit just achieves full ripeness, the tannin is well developed while the fruit remains fresh. Maturation in seasoned French oak allows the single vineyard characters to shine through without strong oak influence. This wine is stunning to drink now but will continue to cellar well for many years to come. Raj's Pick Grenache, handpicked from our beautiful old bush vines planted in 1886, has incredibly deep and intense flavours with great persistence. A very rare wine. Matured in seasoned French oak. The 2018 vintage is one of our best ever. This seriously complex wine shows delicious flavours of black current, blackberry, cinnamon, black olive, dark cocoa, cola, earthy spice, paprika, and After Dinner Mint. Gently matured in seasoned French oak allows for great fruit expression. Such an intriguing wine that is beautifully round and soft with huge length. It is such a joy to experience now and will continue to mature well for many years to come. A full bodied wine with dark cocoa, black pepper, plum, ground coffee, blackberry and ripe cherry characters. The sweet dark fruits are balanced by gentle powdery tannins. Bottle age is now revealing greater complexity and smoothness. Fabulous to enjoy now and will also cellar until 2028 or so. 5% whole bunch, 8 days on skins, French Oak (10%new) for 12 months -
OLD VINE GRENACHE Our old dry grown Grenache bush vines were planted in 1886. They deliver intensely flavoured fruit. We blended it with Shiraz (20%) to create a rich full bodied wine. The gnarly Grenache vines grow fruit packed with flavour and earthy savouriness. It has Turkish delight and tart cherry characters with warmth and sweetness, and savoury dusty tannins. This wine is now showing some beautiful aged characters together with a great retention of fresh fruit. Single Vineyard, own vineyard. Vines planted 1886.
