  • Our highly awarded 2016 vintage Red Art Shiraz is a full bodied wine with fabulous fruit expression.   We have 3 separate blocks of shiraz on our little single vineyard, and each plot provides different characters and tannin profiles.  Together they create a wine with great depth and layers of flavours.  Maturation in mostly older French oak allows the single vineyard characters to shine through without strong oak influence.  This wine will continue to develop in the bottle for many, many years to come. Trophy: Red Wine of Provenance, National Wine Show of Australia 2017 The Red Wine of Provenance Trophy awards the best and most age worthy red wine in Australia.  Three vintages of the same wine spanning 10 years are judged as a group, assessing the consistency of quality and expression over time.  In 2017 our Red Art Shiraz vintages 2016, 2010, 2006 won this very important trophy. Decanter May 2023 96 points From a family-run micro-winery founded by sixth-generation Barossan vigneron Sam Kurtz and his wife Bernadette Kaeding, who also designs all the labels for their range. The Shiraz vines on their 5ha Ebenezer site were 20 years old in this moderately warm vintage; the fruit (some left as whole bunches) was handpicked and fermented with wild yeasts in open-top vats, basket pressed, then aged 15 months in seasoned French oak.  Decanter judges comments: Justin Knock MW "Intriguing aromatic complexity, savoury, elusive, peppercorn and cured meats, turmeric and sage. Silky and charming, beguiling." Tina Gellie "Gorgeous youthful purity on the nose, pretty and lifted, full of florals, berries and exotic smoky spices. Compelling, a lightly dancing and breezy Shiraz with good structure." Roger Jones "Clean and focused with a smoky element, blackcurrants, spice, restrained. A classy wine full of promise, ripe fruit still at the fore but a lovely complexity, too."
  • We have only 6 magnums available. One magnum can be purchased with any dozen order of Rojomoma wines. Our 2018 vintage Red Art Shiraz is one of our best vintages so far. It is a full bodied wine exploding with complexity. Delicious flavours of black fruits, liquorice, blackberry pie, espresso martini, dark chocolate, charcuterie, earthy spice and black pepper are augmented by smooth silky full tannins.    We have 3 separate blocks of shiraz on our little single vineyard, and each plot provides different characters and tannin profiles.  Together they create a wine with great depth and layers of flavours. Picked when the fruit just achieves full ripeness, the tannin is well developed while the fruit remains fresh.  Maturation in seasoned French oak allows the single vineyard characters to shine through without strong oak influence.  This wine is stunning to drink now but will continue to cellar well for many years to come. • Best in the World  ~  Wine writing books, Gourmand International Book Awards

After achieving the position of Best Wine Writing book in Australia for the Gourmand International Book Awards 2016, Bernie's book then went on the compete for the Best in the World (Wine writing) in the Gourmand International Book Awards.  The top 3 books in each category are awarded "Best in the World".  "True Stories: Portraits of Barossa Winemakers" came 3rd in the Wine Writing Category and so can now proudly wear the title of "Best in the World" in the Gourmand International Book Awards.  The international competition is like a 'Book Olympics', with countries around the globe competing for the top three positions in their category.   "Let no one think this is simply a human version of Wine Dogs.  It's a great deal more than that; Bernadette is a superb photographer with great imagination, a great sense of humour, and writes with flair. Every photograph and its accompanying story is a joy to look at and to read.  It's hard to say more, so compelling are the images.  One wouldn't normally expect to use the words 'page turner' (more often used for a well written crime thriller), but once you open the book, you will be swept along through to the finish." James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion True Stories: Portraits of Barossa Winemakers is a collection of photographic portraits of winemakers with their hobbies - an insight into their personality, beyond their wine brand. Accompanying each image I have written a story reflecting the conversations we had during the photo sessions and each winemaker has also contributed their own piece. The photographic style and theme allowed the winemakers to comfortably be themselves and reveal not just who they are, but interesting tales about themselves as well.  The narrative shares those stories in the same whimsical, relaxed fashion in which they were first discussed.  As a collective, the characters in this book display a snap shot of a section of today's Barossa culture.     Save
